Starting Out: Battle
Battle Basics
Battle takes place in the third person and should never be written as if you know for sure that you connected with your opponent. Digimon on higher levels have the advantage and digimon with higher stages of evolution will have an even greater advantage. The smallest stage at which a digimon may take part in battle is Rookie.
Elements
There are 5 known elements; Fire, Water, Nature, Air, Dark , and Light. All elements are in a tug of war with one another, and if a strong enough atttack is used even fire can render water useless (evaporation) But in most cases one element has a leg up on another, with the exception of Light and Dark. The two forces are in a constant battle for supremacy and each is weak against the other
Fire beats Nature
Nature beats Air
Air beats Water
Water beats Fire
Light beats Dark
Dark beats Light
Ailments
Some digimon have attacks which can cause status effects;
Posion: Causes 10% damage every turn
Paralysis: Causes a digimon to become immobile for 2 posts, or one direct attack
Sleep: Puts a digimon to sleep for 3 turns no matter how much damage they sustain while sleep
Stone: Turns a digimon to stone, if all a tamers digimon are turned to stone they loose the match, if the stone is broken/shattered the digimon perishes
Death: Inflicts death within 5 posts
