With his digivice in hand, Jacob opened a warp tube and picked the location of the mission he had accepted from the board. Walking out of the tube he walked into the area; it was new to him. His mission was to find the source of the wind, which shouldn't be too hard as long as it wasn't terribly far away. Releasing all three of his digimon from their home, Jacob began walking against the wind. His original Patamon plopped its self on his head while the new Patamon and Kudamon took his left and right shoulders respectfully.

"I guess it's time to kick some old wind bags ass." Jacob said to his three companions.

As Jacob comes out of his warp tube he see's a few rookie digimon huddled around a large sign written in the old digital aplhabet. The sign rattles wildly in the wind but somehow manages to stay in one piece. The wind hits Jacobs face like an unwelcome friend and almost blows the two patamon off of his shoulder and head. As he gets closer he see's that its a race of some sort. A lone Biyomon is seated at a table and keeps squawking things murderously but with the level that the wind is at now its impossible for Jacob to make out what the digimon could be saying.

Jacob walks up the group of rookies and looks at the sign. Fumbling around in his pants he pulls out his digivice and scrolls through the options to see if there is some sort of translator that could decode the sign. Holding it up he scanned it to see if the data could be processed. "Hey do any of you know what this sign says?" Jacob asked the digimon that were standing next to him. He spoke somewhat louder than normal to compensate for the wind. Waiting a while for an answer the tamer next went to talk to the venomous sounding Biyomon. "So what's going on here?" he practically yelled trying to get his voice over the wind. With a firm hand Jacob held his two Patamon firmly.

Holding the digivice to the sign did nothing, but when the digimon were asked what was going on they simply replied that it was a race. The wind began to pick up speed and the sign seemed as if it were going to be knocked over or split in half. As Jacob approached the Biyomon it didnt silence itself to listen to what the tamer had to say, and in fact simply talked over him

"There is a race going on today! All are welcome to participate. Its a tradition for those of us in the Howling Forest those who can fly against the wind are promised to grow big and strong. Wanna join?"

Jacob thought and ponder the words for a second while looking at his digimon. They were rather light weights when it came to this stuff, they were just about blown away earlier, and they weren't even flying then. "Sure why not? Sign all three of them in please." said the tamer. Jacob figured if it was along the way, what could it hurt to get a little bit of training in?... "So, is there anything else I need to know?" asked the tamer before having his digimon fly up into the air.

The Biyomon looks at the tamer as he says

"Sign all three of them up"

"Only flying digimon can enter this race, that ones out."

The Biyomon chirps slightly as it speaks and its voice at the distance that Jacob is at causes his eardrums to squeal. The Biyomon taps its wing against its beak as it tries to think of additional rules

"Attack of any kind are forbidden, your digimon must fly in a straight line the entire time or it will be forfeit. If you loose the race then you can not retry it ever. If you win the race you cannot retry it ever. The wind changes alot so be careful"

A star floats off of the Biyomon as she gives Jacob a wink after her sentence, but her loud tone has caused Jacob's ears to come to the point of almost bleeding

"BAH! Okay I got it, I got it!" Jacob said just wanting the digimon to shut its yap. Shaking his head, he had his two digimon over to the starting point and line up. Thinking over the rules he thought of a few ways he could "help" out his digimon that wouldn't technically violate them. "Turn around and start the race backwards." the tamer ordered with a grin. Not only did the tame have a plan, with any luck this would put the other digimon off so that they would miss the shot to single the start of the race.

The other digimon look at the strange behavior of the guest digimon and think nothing of it. A loud caw comes from a nearby digimon and the race is off the wind blowing the two Patamon of Jacob's in the opposite direction of the goal. A Black Biyomon launches off against the wind and seems to be able to fight against the strong current, while the other digimon within the race seem to be having a hard time with it. In second place is a Falcomon and in Third is a Hawkmon

Jacob scratched the back of his head with a slightly embarrassed look on his face. "Oh well guys, you just didn't have the weight these guys did to pull off flying in this crazy wind." Jacob said picking up his two digimon. Jacob looked at the claw, he noticed that the wind seemed to pick up when the race started. From that he was certain the wind was being caused by some sentient digimon. Something powerful to effect a large area like this maybe using the power of one of those spirits the Seekers have been looking for. For now Jacob decided to wait and see what the prize was for first place.

With no opposition the Black Biyomon easily wins the race, with a Terriermon taking second. Most of the remaining digimon didnt place and were either blown off the course by the crazy shifting of the wind or were disqualified for using attacks to try and get a leg up in the race. A small glint from the Black Biyomon's right leg shines in the sun and hits Jacob directly in the eye. The Black Biyomon walks up to the loud Biyomon and receives a strange green scarf which isnt affected by the direction of the wind in any sort. The Black Biyomon shows off for a moment before thanking the loud Biyomon and takes off to the tree tops of the Howling Forest, as a consolation prize Jacob is awarded [Biyomon Claw]

Jacob placed the necklace around his neck and thanked the loud Byiomon with a traditional bow. "So, is there anything you can tell me about this wind? Is it the work of some digimon, and why was that piece of green cloth unaffected by it?" asked the tamer trying to use the effects of the prize he earned. If this didn't get him anywhere, Jacob would go and try to track down the black Byiomon, there was something about it that seemed off.

The Biyomon looked at the tamer with a puzzled look on its face. It didnt know what caused the wind nor did the thought of a digimon controlling it cross its mind. The Biyomon looked at the tamer and simply winked at him

"The scarf is a scarf of wind, anything else you want to know i do not know. I only know that it is a prize for this race that we hold every now and again"

The Biyomon's loud voice no longer seemed to cause the ears of Jacob to quake and it seemed to be an almost melodic tone. Before the Biyomon could say anything else to the tamer a mighty wind blew in the opposite direction that he had been before causing everything except for the tree's to bend and lay almost flat. The wind however only lasted for a few minutes before subsiding and returning to a mild gale. The sign for the race had been blown away and few of the digimon that had previously been around Jacob were still around. Luckily Jacob's Patamon were still nearby albeit knocked unconscious and laying under a nearby tree

"Ah, thank you for the information." Jacob said as he walked away. With a sigh the tamer pressed a button to return his two digimon into the digivice so they would at least be safe for the time being. Now the wind had suddenly shifted to a new direction with a powerful gust to announce it. It became obvious that he would never figure it out if he just trekked in the direction the wind was blowing from if it was going to change so often. Walking through the forest, Jacob hoped that the Black Biyomon had been slowed down by the wind so he would have a better chance of finding it.

Unfortunately the Black Biyomon was no where to be found. As Jacob walked the wind decided to pick up again and this time it blew in the opposite direction that it had before causing him to have to face the wind instead of having it to his back. It also brought a new series of problems, as the wind shifted a digimon was carried on it and smacked Jacob in the face causing him to loose his sight as it hugged his face trying to fight against the wind. The digimon scuttled on the tamers face before up righting itself on his head, it took notice to his necklace which he wore around his neck

"What a nice thing you have there"

Its voice was almost like sandpaper as it would offend the ears of some that heard it. Jacob was now able to see but because the digimon was ontop of his head he could not identify it

"Well how are you little guy, do you need some help with the wind? I can take you where you need to go if it's not to far away." Jacob said pulling out his digivice to scan the digimon. Pressing one of the buttons he tried to scan the little digimon on top of his head. "So do you know anything about this strange wind?" asked the tamer.

The digimon's talons stick into the tamers head, and though Jacob cant see it, it sticks out its chest proudly.

"I dont need the help of some weak tamer to get through this wind"

The digimon however didnt let go of the tamers head. A beep comes from Jacob's digivice as it finishes scanning the digimon and reveals a DemiDevimon

As Jacob continues to move through the howling forest he see's that many of the tree's have bent over in a certain direction making a bit of a hedge with their branches now. There was little room to walk in between but it looked as if there was a great clearing in the center.

"Well that's fine I suppose, but I could use your help since you're so strong that is. With you on board we could keep each other safe, a mutual partnership against whatever it is in this forest." said the tamer trying to use the little digimon's pride to win its trust. Jacob walked into the clearing to investigate. It was obvious this is, or at least was the epicenter for whatever was creating all of the wind. With the trees blown down like tooth picks and the outright lack of trees, there was defiantly something strange about this area. "So do you know what could have done this?" Jacob asked the digimon that was digging its claws into his head.

The digimon pressed down on Jacob's head even more as it received the tamers false praise

"Of course you need my help, just look at me"

The digimon however also didnt know the cause of the wind or why the tree's were bent down so badly. As Jacob crossed into the thicket a digimon jumped up from under his leg lashing out towards the tamer with its large claws and scratching the wing of the DemiDevimon. The sudden attack knocked Jacob over, there was a rustling behind the tamer as another digimon popped out from under the thicket, Jacob soon found himself in the midst of two Gazimon

Gazimon(A): 15 Hp
Gazimon(B): 15 Hp

Jacob held up his digivice and released his second Patamon and Kudamon. Out of the bright flash from the digivice, Patamon flew at Gazimon B from above and dropped down on it using its body blow attack. Kudamon hovered near Jacob and shot a beam of light at the remaining Gazumon aiming for its chest. Standing back up, Jacob walked over to DemiDevimon and picked him up examining its wing. "Are you all right?" asked the tamer to the dark digimon.

The speed of the Gazimon allowed for him to move out of the way just enough that the attack from the Patamon didnt cause him serious harm, the body blow also caused Patamon to hit the thicket below and become stuck

"You stuck???"

The Gazimon sarcastically speaks as his large claw swipes at the Patamon freeing him but also injuring the Patamon in the process. The beam of light released from the Kudamon caught the Gazimon off guard and caused him to fall over to his side. As he got up his knee's wobbled slightly

"I didnt know Kudamon knew that attack"

The Gazimon tried to release a Stun Blast but his recent injuries would not allow him to.

DemiDevimon gives a scoff as Jacob picks him up, and looks away from the tamer as he blushes

"I dont need any help from you"

The DemiDevimon brushes himself off and then sits back atop Jacob's head watching the battle unfold


Gazimon(A): 9 Hp
Gazimon(B): 14 Hp
Patamon: 7 Hp
Kudamon: 39 Hp

With the Gazimon so close, it was able to damage Patamon, however it was also an easy target for the little digimon. "Boom Bubble" Puffing up Patamon shot a compressed air bubble at the Gazimon that had attacked and freed it from its thicket prison. Jacob took off his coat and placed it up to the DemiDevimon. "I'm going to need to cover you for just a second, so my attack doesn't bother you." Jacob said to the digimon as he placed his coat over it. "Extreme Light Shock" A powerful light covered the area binding all but its users. "Whirlwind Bullet" Spinning the small digimon shot forward and attacked the wobbly Gazimon A.

With Patamon underneath him, the Gazimon didnt have much in the way of dodging the Boom Bubble, it struck the Gazimon in the chin and caused all the fur on his body to fly upwards. Frustrated the Gazimon delivers a quick claw attack knocking the Patamon into a few tree branches that had been near by. Not knowing what was going on the DemiDevimon feels himself shrouded in the jacket of the tamer.

The extreme lightshock startles the already stumbling Gazimon and it blinks its eyes repeatedly not seeing the bullet whirlwind heading its way, the attack his the Gazimon in the nose and knocks it back a bit into the thicket. The Gazimon jumps up not knowing what hit it and rubs its nose slightly. In frustration the Gazimon fires off a a strange breath attack

Paralyze Breath

Though the attack doesnt cause paralysis within the Kudamon he does feel a strange tingling sensation throughout his whole body as its racked with pain. DemiDevimon fights his way through the jacket

"Hey whats the big idea, theres a fight going on, no attack of your caliber could bother me"

The DemiDevimon continues to watch the battle as if he had never witnessed one as his eyes grow big and his grip on Jacobs head decreases

Gazimon(B): 10 Hp
Patamon: 5 Hp
Kudamon: 35 Hp

"Patamon, Kidamon, switch dancing partners quickly!" Jacob ordered. Picking his jacket up from beside the DemiDevimon before placing it on his shoulder. "Bullet Whirlwind" Spinning around quickly, Kudamon speed in between Patamon and Gazimon B. "Divine Ray" Opening its mouth, merely a second after speeding in front of its foe, Kudamon shoots a beam of light at the Gazimon. Flapping its wings as hard as it could, Patamon climbed in altitude. "Boom Bubble Body Slam" Puffing up the small digimon used a boom bubble on the tree sending its round body flying at a greater speed towards the weakest Gazimon. With any luck the strong body slam would finish the weakened foe.

Before the Gazimon could react there was Kudamon in front of him. The beam from the Kudamon sent the Gazimon back breaking a good portion of the branches that had been near him. The Gazimon however wasnt as weak as his counterpart and dashes up from the wreckage striking the Kudamon at center mass with a quick body tackle which was soon followed up by a Paralyze Breath
This time the attack rendered the Kudamon unable to move

The struggling Gazimon bursts into code at the attack of the Patamon, and Jacob's Patamon is barely able to hold on. Its body is wrecked with pain as it bounces off of the Gazimon. Patamon lies on the ground its eyes spinning as its hp drops to one.

With Kudamon unable to move from its current position the Gazimon sets his sights on the fallen Patamon

Patamon: 1 Hp
Kudamon: 30 Hp <paralyzed>

A bright light comes from Jacob's digivice and a figure appears in front of the Gazimon. Standing there was yet another Patamon. "Boom Bubble" The much stronger bubble attack erupted from Jacob's original Patamon at the remaining Gazimon. It most likely wouldn't finish the foe, but it would make it think twice about trying to attack the wounded Patamon.
