To the Beetle Grasslands

Opening a warp tube, Jacob selects the first location available and clicks on it. The young man didn't even take the time to see where he was going. Honestly he didn't really care either. It was a grassland of some sort. He walked forward through the grass while his Patamon hovered around his head while Kudamon sat on his shoulder clinging to its bullet.

[Ginrai]

Within the beetle grasslands there are no tree's and the beetles themselves are hardly ever seen on the ground. Its a wonder how what they feed on or what feeds on them. As Jacob walks he see's a swarm of Tentomon pass him, they look in the tamers direction and pay him no mind. Other tamers from "King's" speech earlier are also present within the beetle grasslands, it would seem that they too chose this location to look for the elements that the digimon were gathering. If Jacob isnt careful he may have difficulty obtaining that which he seeks.

The Tentomon swarm flies off to the east and a small wind kicks up causing the grass to bend over ever so slightly and for Kudamon's eyes to blink. Off in the distance it appears that some digimon are gathered around in a circle. They are to far away to make out clearly from the distance that Jacob is at

Jacob looked around, first thing was first. The tamer went around and began to talk to the other tamers, the ones that would listen at least. He gave them a speech about being on the same team. However he knew this wouldn't be enough to convince their kind. Jacob also told them how their chances of victory and glory would be much higher if they worked together. He even went as far as to say that the king never specified they had to bring in one spirit each. So if they worked as a group one spirit should be enough for the whole group to pass. Once he was finished Jacob began walking towards the circle of digimon. "I'm certain what we're looking for involve those digimon." said Jacob pointing at them.

The first few tamers are a bit skeptical and pay the frantic tamer no mind. One lad begins to sweat bullets and as Jacob turns and talks about the digimon in the distance he loses it

"YOUR NOT STEALING MY GLORY!!!"

The tamer yells causing Tentomon who had been sleep in the ground to spring to life and scatter in a massive swarm. The Tamer pulls out his digivice re:loading his digimon, at first only the snout can be seen in a skeleton of code but then the rest of his form begins to form outside of the digivice and his skeletal code is given skin and fur with a swirling blue fire surrounding him before being lost to the wind. A Gabumon now stands in front of Jacob the young tamer breathes heavily as sweat continues to pour down his face and madness is seen in his eyes

"Boom Bubble" A small bubble shoots out of the puffed up Patamon the instant the tamer released him digimon. The attack was aimed for the Gabumon's horn or head area. "Bullet Whirlwind" Seconds later Jacob's second digimon attacked by spinning around quickly on its holy cartridge and launching its self at the foe's feet in an attempt to knock it off balance and onto the ground, with a sort of one two shot combination. "Seriously kid, that was the biggest mistake of your life" Jacob said walking toward the other tamer with his fists clenched.

As the boom bubble approaches the Gabumon he meets it head on with his horn causing it to burst and for the wind to wrap around his tamer. The tamer see's Jacob clench his fist and begins to sweat even more, however before he can react the Kudamon's bullet hits Gabumon in the knee's knocking the digimon onto its hind side

Gabumon a lot less sweaty than his tamer simply launches a blue flame at the Kudamon seated on the shoulder of Jacob causing the digimon to fall over into the grass. More Tentomon begin to flee from the sounds of a fight

"Extreme Light Shock" A very bright light erupts from the earring that Kudamon wore filling the area with the holy substance. It has no effect on the Gabumon other than possibly blinding him momentarily. From inside the beam of light, Patamon swooped down blasting off a barrage of three boom bubbles down up on the unwary digimon. Kudamon, the produce of the bright light slithered through the tall grass attempting to keep its appearance hidden from the foe.

Despite his digimon being shot of his shoulder, Jacob kept walking forward towards the other tamer. Being a rather big guy, Jacob attempted to grab the tamer by the collar and pick him up. He would follow the intimidating movement by repeatedly punching the other tamer. "Who the hell do you think you are? Is glory really that important you're willing to risk your closest comrade to attack another? You make me sick, people like you don't deserve to call themselves tamers!" lectured Jacob.

Gabumon looks directly in Kudamon's direction as the flashing light hits him causing him to become slightly dazed. Patamon was however also affected by the light given off by Kudamon causing his attacks to miss their marks. Gabumon's shoulders are both barely grazed by the ill timed attack and the last lands behind him

As Jacob grabs the tamer he smiles slightly almost as if he wanted this to happen sweat still pouring down his face. The tamer looks up at Jacob blood trickling down through his mouth.

"Are you so desperate to rely on others that you would go to such lengths just to get others to follow you. Well look around doesnt look like anyone will help you now. How about you rely on your own strength?"

As the tamer finishes his words his and Jacob's digivice's glow, not soon after tamers that were nearby begin to flock to help the one that was being assaulted. The tamer strikes Jacob in his solar plexus with two heavy palm strikes crippling the tamers capacity to breathe. The tamer dusts himself off

"You speak like we are comrades in arms, but neither one of us is a Hero Seeker yet. You could have one this fight had you not touched me"

RIVAL INITIATED

The glow from the two digivices shows that Jacob and the tamer he encountered are now rivals

Bio: Has attempted to get into the Hero Seekers 3 times and failed. This year is his last year to be eligible before he is passed on to a different guard team. As it stands he has 2 digimon. One which has been revealed as a Gabumon

Two more tamers come to Harry's aid as Kudamon and Patamon are forcefully returned to their digivice. Harry puts away his Gabumon and walks off towards the large gathering of digimon

At this point Jacob couldn't do much, it seemed his decision was a rather unpopular one among the other trainers. It really pissed him off, that idiot could go off and attack anyone and yet they still came to his aid. "Ah, whatever ya bunch of jackasses. I hope he jumps you and jacks your digimon while he's at it!" Jacob growled with his hands in his pockets. The tame just walked toward the group of digimon as the rest of the tamers did.

As Jacob comes to his vision is slightly blurry. He see's two of the tamers pull out their digivice's and summon a Tsukaimon and a Biyomon. The two digimon begin to terrorize the large gathering of the digimon not to far from Jacob. As his vision begins to reform Jacob makes out the digimon as Tentomon but the thing they are encircling is blinded by the smoke and data stirred up by the raiding party. One Tentomon manages to escape as he runs towards the tamers the Biyomon picks him off, he lets out a loud shriek just before bursting into code.

Shortly following there is a large sound of beating wings which is soon interrupted by a loud thud. The Biyomon and Tsukaimon fly off in different directions and the smoke from their attacks blasts away revealing a Kabuterimon and a glowing egg. The Kabuterimon lets out an insects equivalent of a roar and turns its head towards Harry, Jacob and the unidentified two tamers.

"Well it looks like your going to get that group you were looking for"

Harry calls out his Gabumon and throws at him a DigiShroom healing his injuries from his previous battle.

"First one to kill it gets all the data from the Tentomon"

"Hey, kid with the Biyomon, what's your name? As long as we're going to fight beside each other even if it is for just now, we should know each others names. I'm Jacob, the guy over there is Henry, and he's obviously hiding something. I know for a fact you have two digimon, so why don't you bring out the other one?" Jacob said calling out the other trainer.

Pressing a button Jacob released his Patamon from the digivice. He knew very well that his digimon weren't going to do near as much damage as the other two tamers'. Their digimon all most likely had fire type attacks, which would definitely be enough to take down even a champion level bug type. The most Jacob would be able to do is provide cover fire for them. Pata stayed back and flew about head level with the Kabuterimon blasting out boom bubbles which would likely do little damage.

Harry starts to sweat like he had been when fighting Jacob earlier and pays the tamer no mind. The Tamer with the Biyomon gives a scoff before responding to him

"My name is Ingrid"

Biyomon finally recovers from the Kabuterimon's attack and lets out a spiral twister aimed at the legs of the Kabuterimon. The fire attack causes the bug digimon to wince slighly in pain and as it opens its mouth its hit with a barrage of boom bubbles from the patamon. Kabuterimon curls over into a ball as the sky begins to quake and dark clouds gather above. The wind picks up for a moment before dieing down completely

Electric Storm

Electricity covers the Kabuterimon's body, he raises his horn into the air and delivers a mighty slam to the approaching patamon. Harry's Gabumon see's the Kabuterimon focused on the Patamon and strafes around to its back, he fires a few petit fires at the digimon's wings. Tsukaimon is still knocked unconscious for the time being

"Patamon back off for a bit and let them take some of the damage." Jacob ordered as his digimon got back up to its feet. Flapping its wings a couple times the small pig like digimon got into the air and circled around the back of the Kabuterimon. Patamon was making sure to keep its distance, for another attack like that would leave him barely able to fight, if at all. Jacob crouched down and released his second digimon into the grass. "Keep low and just watch until I give you the signal." said Jacob in a whisper. Stand back up it seemed that Jacob had went down to tie his shoe. Nodding to its tamer the small digimon snaked its way through the grass to get into position.

Kabuterimon turns around swatting at the Gabumon who attacked his wings knocking him a few meters off into the distance. Tsukaimon had finally recovered and with the Kabuterimon distracted darts towards it flying inbetween its legs launching a bad message as it does. The attack has no effect on the champion digimon but it now focused on the Tsukaimon. The Kabuterimon begins to slowly gather electricity between its hands.

Meanwhile Biyomon continues to launch its Spiral Twister at the Kabuterimon's leg

"Patamon back side slap." said its tamer on a sort of code. Patamon caught a small gust of wind allowing it to raise up a few more feet. Like a really slow bullet Patamon dove downward towards the back of the Kabuterimon. Using the momentum from the extra speed, Patamon attempted to slam it wing into the back of the insect digimon. If it didn't injure itself in the process the Patamon would dive down and to the left to try and avoid the foe's potential counter attack.

Mega Blaster

Kabuterimon releases the ball of electricity he had been storing, and releases it on the small Tsukaimon. The Tsukaimon almost gets coded by the attack and is sent spiraling back to its tamers digivice. Biyomon's attempts to weaken the large digimon's legs have finally started to pay off as a small wound begins to appear on the Kabuterimon's left leg. Gabumon gets up just as Patamon dives down, he begins to go into a bit of a sprint and as he gets closer he see's the wound that the Biyomon had caused, he jumps up and as Patamon comes down on the back of the Kabuterimon he strikes with his horn. Patamon injures itself in the process and is no longer able to fly

The Kabuterimon goes down to one knee and then looks at the wounded Patamon and then finally at the source of the fire attacks aimed at its legs.

Electric Storm

Kabuterimon's body charges with electricity and he slams into the Biyomon sending it back into its Tamers digivice. The Kabuterimon then returns to its location directly above the glowing egg

"Well, Henry do you have any bright ideas? Oh like maybe releasing that second digimon you're hiding." Jacob said rather sarcastically. Patamon used the foes attack on the other tamers digimon to distance itself from the much stronger champion digimon. Jacob needed time to regroup and think about the situation. Obviously the egg was a whole lot more important than the enemies attacking it as it decided to ignore them and go back to it. "Attack the egg!" Jacob yelled. Jacob had been wondering for quite some time now, if the egg was in fact one of the ancient digimon spirits. If this was true, there were a few options he could think of that would come out of him attacking it.

Firstly the most pleasant, once his digimon touched the egg, it would digivolve. After that it would keep the form, or burst into code from incompatibility. It could also be destroyed from the attack, which would cause the Kabuterimon to attack ferociously. Escape would be the most logical option at that point, sure they didn't get the spirit, but neither did the enemy which was strong as is. If the spirit contained any power during the destruction it could possibly explode taking out Kudamon and maybe Kabuterimon or at least damaging the large foe. The worst possible scenario would be if nothing happened at all.

"Bullet Whirlwind" Kudamon shot from its hiding place like a bullet. Its attack was aimed for the egg, and with any luck the sudden out burst wouldn't be blocked by the nearby Kabuterimon. Even if it was, on the bright side, it would likely do some damage.

Kabuterimon looks down as he see's the Kudamon launch its bullet at him

Electro Storm

Kabuterimon's body fills itself with electricity shocking the bullet of the Kudamon and causing an electric surge to hit the small digimon. Kabuterimon then gets in a defensive stance over the egg losing sight of the Gabumon and leering over the downed Kudamon. It opens its mandibles as saliva begins to drip onto the lying digimon.

Harry once again ignores the tamer as sweat pours down his face, his Gabumon fires a petit flame at the festering wound before launching himself horn first into it. Kabuterimon swerves his head around and notices the Gabumon, he beats his wings menacingly and causing a massive wind blowing Gabumon and Kudamon a great distance away. Data which had been lingering around from the fallen Tentomon began to gather at the center of the Kabuterimon's hands and focused itself into the egg, the body of a Kuwagamon slowly begins to form

"Shit! Patamon stop it now!" Jacob yelled noticing another champion digimon beginning to form. Patamon ran as fast as its tiny little legs could carry it through the tall grass. "Boom Bubble" A larger than normal bubble erupted from the puffed up little pig and shot towards the Kabuterimon's injured leg in hopes of throwing it off balance and stopping the data from forming the second digimon.

As Patamon desperately tried to stop the foe, Kudamon made its way back up onto its feet. Slowly the injured little digimon made its way through the tall grass back towards the larger foe. Usually Jacob would of had ordered Kudamon to watch the Gabumon, but at a time like this that wouldn't help too much.

[Ginrai]

Kabuterimon continues to pour the data into the egg, paying no mind to the pain in its leg. The wound had now started to heal since it had not been hit with a fiery attack in so long. The egg continues to take on a Kuwagamon appearance, but soon begins to look more like a prehistoric form of the beast, surpassing Okuwamon and GranKuwagamon in its pincer size.

Harry's Gabumon struggles to get to its feet, its entire body shakes as he lifts himself off the ground. Harry hears a beep come from his digivice followed by a strange sound

"Im ready!"

Harry finally stops sweating as he releases a Tsunomon from his digivice, the digimon is soon wrapped in a white light and digivolves into a Gotsumon

"Patience Rival, patience, you now have what you have been wishing for this whole time"

The Gotsumon rushes to Kabuterimon and looks him square in his helm, he punches the ground sending up a large rock from the earth and follows it up with a kick knocking the rock into the Kabuterimon hitting him in the chest. This coupled with the Kabuterimon's weak leg causes him to fall over with his helm pointed at the sky.

Gabumon: 4 Hp

"Patamon and Kudamon, finish it quickly!" Jacob yelled not wanting to lose to his rival. "Boom Bubble" Patamon leaped up onto the foe's chest and launched a barrage of bubbles downward. "Bullet Whirlwind" Kudamon used its attack to clear the distance between it and the foe. The small digimon now hovered above the enemy digimon. Shifting its body, Kudamon aimed its bullet and used its attack once again. The attack was aimed for inside Kabuterimon's exposed mouth in hopes of finally ending the battle.

[Ginrai]

The helpless Kabuterimon bursts into a flurry of code some of which collects on the floating statue of what appears to be an Ancient Form of Kuwagamon. Harry looks at the spirit in awe, but since Jacob landed the final blow he awards him the prize.

"I got better things to do"

Harry returns his digimon to his digivice and the moves on deeper into the beetle grasslands. The other two tamer who had been defeated as well move in opposite directions hoping to find a spirit of their own.

Jacob is now faced with a choice, use the spirit to digivolve one of his digimon or place it within his digivice and bring it back to the hero seekers

Misc Data:

Jacob recalled his digimon into the the digivice as well as all of the data including the spirit. It would provide an instant burst of strength if it actually worked. However it would only provide one digivolution, while teaming up with the guard team could potentially provided the secret to the dampening wave or even the way to block it. So for now Jacob just clutched his digivice and used it to warp him back to the Hero Seekers HQ.
